Michelle Bachelet

Actually, it's very difficult to find a person that I admire, because I could mention my mother or someone of my family, but if I think in something wider, and because of her work, I think that is Michelle Bachelet.
She was born in Santiago, September 29th, in 1951. She studied medicine, but she is a political person naturally. Daughter of the brigadier of the Chilean air force, Alberto Bachelet and the anthropologist Angela Jeria. Her father was member of the Unidad Popular's government and this is where she starts she's progresist ideals.

Tortured by Pinochet, she was sent to the exile, time where she lived in Australia and Germany. She returned to Chile to fight for the return of the democracy in our country.

Then, in democracy times, she worked in the Defense and Health's ministries and after that, she was chosen as the president of the republic, being the first woman in the history of our country to have this chance.
As a president, she begans a deep social protection reform, the complement and development of the Alta Dirección Pública program and her government was recognized for have a parity between man and women. All this things rised up her citizen approbation.

In my case, I admire her for her achievements, for her strong work, for clear up all the things that happened during Pinochet times and for her wide economic development in our country.
